History of National Ashton Day

Ashton, which means ‘ash tree town,’ is a popular name in England. The most well-known holder of the title is Ashton Kutcher, an American actor, model, comedian, and producer. He was born on February 7, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was raised in a traditional Catholic home and discovered his passion for acting in high school, appearing in various plays. In 1996, Kutcher went on study biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa and it was here that he was approached by a modeling scout who persuaded him to take part in a contest. He won first place and a trip to a New York modeling agency.

Kutcher’s experiences there led him to believe that being a star was his destiny. Before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting goals, he had a brief modeling career. As Michael Kelso on “That 70’s Show,” Kutcher had a successful debut. He starred in the comedy “Dude, Where’s My Car?,” and also “The Butterfly Effect.” He also picked up where Charlie Sheen left off in the show “Two and a Half Men.” Kutcher’s next move was pranking celebrities using a hidden camera in a show he called “Punk’d” which had its debut in 2013.

Ashton James Eaton broke the indoor heptathlon world record. Eaton is the third Olympian to earn back-to-back gold medals and the only athlete in the decathlon to surpass the 9,000 — point threshold. Eaton, who was born on January 21st, 1988, was a natural competitor in basketball, football, running, and wrestling. He received seven gold and one silver medal.
